Sad Sad News: George Carlin Dies at 71
I think I screamed every one of his famous Seven Dirty Words just now when I read this. Comedy wouldn't be the same without this genius and there is no other word than that to describe this legend. He will be fucking missed. Here is one of his classic rants on "The Sanctity of Life."
Sad News for the Comedy Juice Family
We are sad to report that a dear old friend of ours has passed away.
Comedian Mitch Mullany has died at the far too young age of 39.
Mitch was known best as the star of the WB sitcom "Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher" that aired in the late 90's.
Our live shows got started at "The Laugh Factory" in Hollywood in April of 2002. Mitch played our shows from the very beginning and quickly became a good friend of ours. He was always laugh-out-loud hilarious. But more importantly, he was the nicest guy in the world. Always so warm and genuine. He made us feel welcome in what could have been a very scary, daunting new environment. It was always such a pleasure to see him.
He stopped doing standup a few years ago, and sadly, we haven't seen him in a long time. This news comes as a shock. He will truly be missed.
Please take a few minutes and enjoy some of Mitch's standup. Thankfully, he can still make us laugh.
Two other great clips of Mitch's standup can be found on Youtube.
He also wrote a book called "Stranded at Almost" that is available on Amazon.

You never know which star comedians will show up at Comedy Juice shows every Tuesday.By KELLI SKYE FADROSKI
The Orange County Register
Comedy Juice night at the Improv is full of surprises. One can never be too sure who just might "pop" in on any given night.
Famous comedians including Dave Attell, Jamie Kennedy, Owen Benjamin and Ben Gleib have been known to show up and surprise the Comedy Juice crowd in Orange County.
The popular comedy night that originated in Los Angeles made its way into Orange County just a few years ago and has quickly become a popular weeknight attraction. Every Tuesday, Comedy Juice starts at the Brea Improv at 8 p.m., and moves to the Irvine Improv at 10 p.m. This "traveling" line-up usually consists of five comedians...
Bob Odenkirk cast in Mike Birbiglia's CBS Pilot
Mike Birbiglia (who is performing tonight at ComedyJuice Live. Get Tickets Here!) has a new show coming out and it looks like they're starting off on the right track by hiring Bob Odenkirk, a man that I think can handle a comedy beat or two to play his brother.
Punchline Magazine reports:
The veteran comedy writer, actor and producer will play the New York-based comedian's older brother on the show, which is centered around Birbiglia's real-life blog he periodically e-mails to his fans.
A comic with a blog?? Talk about fantasy..

Mike Myers to Host MTV Movie Awards
In "exciting" news today, MTV has decided that the best way to bring the viewers back to their ridiculously influential and not at all predetermined awards show was to go back to a simpler time when we all thought Mike Myers was funny. Remember? C'mon, you can do it! Mole!
The esteemed publication of OK! Magazine reports:
Who's MTV's hostest with the mostest? This year it's Mike Myers. The Canadian comedian has been selected by the music network to host the 2008 MTV Movie Awards...
CJ News: David Cross & Bob Odenkirk Returning To HBO!!

It was can only be described as possibly the best news since the morning after pill for dogs who drink too much, the geniuses, (and I don't mean that hyperbolically), behing MR. SHOW are coming back to HBO with a new show. I really don't have much else to add to this except that I think I may have just peed a little in my pants.
Yep. Totally did.
Hollywood Reporter, uh reports:
The "Mr. Show" duo of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are returning to HBO with "David's Situation," a new comedy pilot starring Cross.
Odenkirk and Cross co-wrote the project, which will star Cross as himself. He leaves Hollywood to move into a suburban, gated community where he has two roommates, a right-wing conservative and a liberal hippie.
"We feel it's really strong and important to the health of America," Cross and Odenkirk wrote about the project on their Web site, BobAndDavid.com...
